Laurie Horowitz began her career as a Massachusetts lawyer but soon moved out to California to work in the film industry. She was an agent at Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills where she represented the film and television rights to literary properties. She has had short fiction published in national and literary magazines and her novel THE FAMILY FORTUNE was published by William Morrow in 2006. She wrote a thriller for Lifetime Television and two short books - THE MATING SEASON and LOVE ME TENDER - for James Patterson’s Bookshots imprint. She was awarded the Writer in Residence at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica, Currently, she runs Westside Writers’ Lab through which she Zooms her weekly workshops, provides editorial services, teaches, and consults on film and literary projects.
